Tickets Required for the Friday ‘Art to Heart’ Gala and Art Sale

In 2018, ‘Art to Heart’ Gala and Art Sale will be held in the ballroom of the Royal Lahaina Resort in Ka‘anapali. This event has grown in prestige because of the quality of the original 125+ paintings, the inspiring images created by the artists, and the opportunity to see all the paintings exhibited in one place.  A truly inspiring experience and all the paintings are available for purchase. The above image captures much of the ‘fun’ collectors experienced at the gala.

This event offers collectors an opportunity to meet the artists, discuss their paintings with them, and make that important decision about which painting/(s) to purchase. It is a serious purchasing opportunity where it pays to be “first-served.” The gala is a showing for collectors. During the previous 12 years of the event, 968 paintings valued at $1.35 million have sold. Please consider joining us and for an evening that is destined to be an incredible experience of enjoying art.  Just having the opportunity to view over 125 freshly painted Maui scenes is one that will inspire you and reinforce why we all consider Maui as a special place to visit or call home.

In 2018, the evening format will reflect suggestions from our collectors and artists.  Collectors requested more time to mingle with artists and view the paintings. Artists requested more time to visit with collectors in order to discuss their paintings and their life as an artist. Therefore, the 2018 program will include a champagne ‘mingling with the artists’ reception with fancy ‘passed’ appetizers, an elegant sit-down dinner main course, and fancy dessert stations for guests to enjoy while mingling or being seated. Last year’s dessert was not only scrumptious, but a work of art.  We’re all excited to see what the Royal Lahaina Resort’s culinary team will present next year.  Once the menu has been confirmed, it will be posted on our website.  Check back closer to the event.

For those wishing to attend the ‘Art to Heart’ Gala and Art Sale, tickets may be purchased by completing the form below.  If not attending the Gala, the public will be able to view paintings Saturday and Sunday in the Royal Lahaina Resort Ballroom. Both Saturday and Sunday are free and open to the public.

One hundred twenty-five paintings will be exhibited which includes the paintings from the Canoe Beach Quick Draw sponsored by Mala, Honu, and Frida’s restaurants. Minimum artwork sizes are 8″x10″ and maximum size is 20″x 24″.

Tickets are $175 per ticket.  The ‘Art to Heart’ Gala and Art Sale is sponsored by the Royal Lahaina Resort.  Net proceeds go toward Maui Arts League’s art programs like the Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational, art workshop scholarships for youth, art supplies for youth art programs, and operational funds.

Tickets can be purchased now. Scroll down to complete the ticket request form. You will receive an email invoice for payment, allowing you to use your credit card. Your tickets are not confirmed until the invoice has been paid. You will receive confirmation of your ticket purchase via email and the ticket(s) will be at Will Call the evening of the event.

Note: Collectors purchasing any of the 17 ‘award’ paintings are asked to leave their purchase/(s) and pick up at the Royal Lahaina Resort Ballroom Gallery on Sunday before 4 p.m. This is being done to showcase all the award winning paintings in one location within the gallery for public viewing on Saturday and Sunday. The Royal Lahaina Resort Ballroom hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Workshop

Maui Arts League is excited to offer two plein air painting workshops in conjunction with the February, 2018 Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational. Both professional artists excel at ‘teaching.’  It is one thing to be a great artist, and yet another to be a superior instructor. Our workshop teachers are selected from the group of MPAPI professional ‘visiting artists’. Leon Holmes from Australia and Morgan Samuel Price from Florida will share their painting knowledge and techniques with  workshop attendees. You won’t want to miss out.
